The wedding season in Masuria
In Masuria most weddings take place between May and September, most often on Saturdays. This is also the peak of the tourist season in Giżycko, Mikołajki and Mrągowo, so hotels, venues and suppliers have the most bookings at this time.
My bridal package covers the whole day: the morning preparations of the bride and her loved ones, and then makeup touch-ups after the ceremony, before the photo session and during the reception. So on any one Saturday I can only take one wedding. The number of dates in the season is therefore limited and cannot be increased.
How far in advance to book
The simplest answer is: as soon as you know the date and place of your wedding. For Saturdays from May to September, many couples book a makeup artist several months or even a year in advance. Outside the season, from November to March, a few months is usually enough, and for an intimate civil ceremony on a weekday, sometimes even a few weeks.
You do not need to know the time of the ceremony or the number of people who need makeup yet. We will agree on these details later. The most important thing is to secure the date.
The dates that go fastest in 2027
- Saturdays in June. In 2027 these are 5, 12, 19 and 26 June. Long days and warm evenings by the lake make June one of the most popular months.
- Long weekends. The May bank holiday weekend runs from Saturday 1 May to Monday 3 May, and Corpus Christi falls on Thursday 27 May. Guests are happy to come for several days then.
- Saturdays in August. 7 and 14 August are the middle of the summer holidays, when everyone is in Masuria and venues and accommodation are in the highest demand.
- September. The golden hour comes earlier, the evenings are still warm and there are fewer tourists, so more and more couples choose September Saturdays.
The order of bookings: when to book a makeup artist
First you book the date and the place: the venue, the church or the registry office. Straight after that, it is worth thinking about the suppliers who can only serve one couple on a given date: the photographer, the videographer, the makeup artist and the hairdresser. Their dates are the ones that run out fastest.

What to write in your first message
- the wedding date and, if you already know it, the time of the ceremony,
- where you will be getting ready: at home, in a hotel, a manor house or the venue,
- the number of people who need makeup, for example your mum, maid of honour, bridesmaids,
- the place of the ceremony and the reception,
- your inspiration, if you have any.
Based on this, I will check my availability and prepare a quote. I set prices individually, and the travel cost is included in the quote.
An off-season wedding and several people who need makeup
A wedding between November and March gives you more flexibility. Venues, photographers and makeup artists have more free dates then, and the preparations can be planned in a shorter time. Remember the short days, though: in Giżycko the sun sets as early as around 3:10 pm in December, so outdoor photos are planned earlier. If several people need makeup on the wedding day, for example your mum, maid of honour and bridesmaids, tell me when you book. The number of people determines what time I start work, and with a larger group the morning starts really early. It is worth planning about an hour per person.

Booking and the deposit
Booking the bridal package with me works like this: you write or call, I check my availability and prepare a quote, and then we agree the terms of our cooperation individually. I book the date once you have paid a deposit of the agreed amount. The deposit counts towards the total price of the service, so on the wedding day you only pay the remaining amount.
Single makeup appointments, for example for a wedding guest, do not require a deposit. In that case I book the date once I confirm it by email or text message.
What if the date or time changes
Plans sometimes change. If the time of the ceremony changes, just let me know and we will adjust the preparation plan. If the date changes, write to me as soon as possible: I will check whether the new date is free, and we will agree on the next steps.
The same goes for the number of people who need makeup and the place where you get ready. If a bridesmaid or the groom’s mother joins, or the hotel changes, tell me at least two weeks before the wedding. Then I can calmly recalculate the time and travel, and the plan for the morning will be ready long before the big day.
